Settling Down in our Little Nest
The Nest from The Knot - Buying a Home, Money Advice, Decorating Ideas, Easy Recipes
this has become my new favorite web site since uttering the words "I do". Because after the wedding/honeymoon is over, all those months of planning have ceased, and I'm left wondering what party to plan next, I can't help but think, "I did, but now what do I DO?" Yes, there are still many "wedding leftovers" on my plate, like thank you cards, decorating and organizing our new place, and the 19th Century name change I face, but it isn't quite so hectic, nor exciting as the wedding phase. You see, I excel in fast-driven environments, where there are deadlines and chaos and everyone is freaking out except for me. And that is really the only way i can describe planning for a wedding....complete chaos. Sometimes it got the better of me, but overall, I kept my cool (until it came down to me physically walking down the aisle.....was it hot in that church or was it just me? mighta been just me). in any case, i've been figuring out ways to busy myself with new things, such as decorating and planning our new apartment. There is still so much to do, and many trips to IKEA to be had, and in between, I am finding that the aforementioned web site is simply fantastic. They know how to whip brides suffering from post wedding traumatic stress syndrome back into shape. Hell, I even started working out again.
p.s. today I leave work early to apply for a new social security card.....the name change has begun!!!!
